Things to do in June
It’s time to Kick-Off the Summer Season!
June is right around the corner and you know what that means? Summer! Father’s Day! Good Weather! It’s time to get out, enjoy the warmth, spend time with family and friends, and have fun. Here are a few ideas to keep you going this June.
- The Pikes Peak Gem Mineral, & Jewelry Show is Friday, June 1 – Sunday, June 3. A pass for all 3 days is only $8, or a ticket for one day is $5. Children 12 and under are free! The show will include silent auctions, door prizes, exhibits, and kid’s activities. The feature exhibit, American Woman, is a 10,000 lb sculpture created by Colorado artist, Francisco Sotomayor.
- If you’re looking for something different, fun, and exciting for dad this Father’s Day, you might want to check out the Pikes Peak Airstrip Attack. June 16 & 17, at the Colorado Springs Airport, you’ll watch half-mile side-by-side speed competition with the fastest stock and modified street cars in the world! You’ll also see an aviation display featuring fully restored and vintage aircraft. Admission is $20 per day or $30 for both days, when tickets are purchased in advance, and $25 at the gate.
- Golf enthusiasts won’t want to miss out on the opportunity to watch the 39th U.S. Senior Open at The Broadmoor. The tournament begins June 25 and runs through July 1. A few special events during the Open include Vince Gill and Amy Grant on June 25, and John Elway will be on the course on June 28. What a way for The Broadmoor to celebrating their 100th anniversary!
Get your creative juices flowing at the Quilt, Craft & Sewing Festival, June 28 – 30. The festival will be held at the Douglas County Fairgrounds & Event Center, in Castle Rock, CO. The admission is only $10 for all 3 days! There will be exhibits about sewing, quilting, crafting, and needarts, along with daily door prizes, and free demos.
